Contemporary Buddhism: Its Role in Strengthening Human Emancipation Globally

Venue: Asian Center, UBC

Description: Leading scholars, Sangh- Bhikkhus (Monks), and community leaders will participate in a facilitated dialogue on the vision of Dr. Ambedkar, as he outlined it in his monumental publication, "The Buddha and His Dhamma."

The discussion will also include how Buddhism is facilitating a peaceful and democratic transformation and provides pathways for human emancipation globally.

6 pm to 9 pm - Evening Session

Venue: CK Choi Building, Lounge UBC.

  • April 21 - 6 PM to 7:15 PM.   "India's legal framework and how it enables human emancipation."

CK Choi Building, University of British Columbia. 

Panel members will include: Consul General of India, Mr. Manish; LA County Judge Neetu Badhan-Smith; BC Minister Bruce Ralston; and, Alberta MLA Leela Aheer.

The session will be moderated by local lawyer, Adv. Lovleen Gill.

  • April 21 - 7:30 pm to 9 pm. Dinner reception will be hosted at CK Choi Lounge
